Andy began his post-University working career as a fledgling music journalist, before joining the Warner Music PR team as their In-House Writer in 1985, under the legendary leadership of Barbara Charone.

From there he moved swiftly up the PR ladder, leaving Warners to join indie label A+M Records in 1987 initially as Press Officer, before becoming Director of Press in 1992, and then Senior Vice-President of Publicity in 1995, until the label was bought out by Polydor in 2000.

This prompted Andy to set up his own PR company APPR, where he continued to work with A+M acts Sting, Sheryl Crow, Bryan Adams,Therapy? and more, whilst adding Courtney Love, Dido, Elliott Smith and other huge Polydor acts to his roster. After three successful years building this new company, Andy was lured back into the corporate fold by Warners once more, rejoining then as Senior VP of Publicity - working with artists as varied as Neil Young, Fleetwood Mac, Liam Gallagher, Biffy Clyro, and Stevie Nicks - until he departed the label in 2018.

Since then Andy has continued to represent most of the above acts from his own revived APPR company, whilst also setting up a burgeoning Management arm, initially looking after veteran Glaswegian rockers Del Amitri, but more recently indulging his love of new music by taking on, with partner James Ward, up and coming new bands Scrounge, Dog Unit, Iona Luke and Legss.
